Black Roses

It's first of September, can't believe it is true, September already! Good thing about first of a month is a new  Kenny K's Krafty Krew Challenge is here, #202, with a twist, of course. You can find out more by following the link :)

This is my idea of a beautiful but dark autumn (or fall, as they call it on the other side of the pond). I chose to use digi stamp Trixxie Treat.

Double heart card blank I made with Glitter Girls embossing board adding few layers and silver peel off thin lines.
Trixxie's make up is done using just Promarkers Ice Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Black roses are again Tonic Studios punch, black card, hot glue gun and burned finger tips :D

Random winner's prize is 3 free digis of the Winner's Choice, 5 if twist is used.

The Top 3 will be chosen by KennyKs Krafty Krew
Prize will be one (1) digi for each of you

Remember you MUST use a KennyK digi or stamp to qualify for a prize!

Recap:

Leather Embossed Card

Morning! I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain, what a glorious day... Yep, raining heavily in Yorkshire and here is my Crafty Catz GDT post for this week. (My Week 4/5.)

Challenge 232 - EMBOSSING
Crafty Catz is a weekly challenge blog with fab bunch of talented crafters and they also have monthly GDT post and I'm Miss May so to speak :D Theme is embossing, and it could be wet embossing, heat embossing, dry embossing... You name it.

Sponsor for this week is Fitztown. Fitztown is a group of talented artists and crafters. we make a variety of products including fine art, sculpting, woodcrafts, papercraft, cardmaking and many more.

Fitztown Store
PRIZE.....3 digis of winner's choice.

We can't wait for your creations! Join us this week (and weeks to come) at Crafty Catz. Remember to follow the theme "embossing".

I had a chance to get really beautiful leather embossed card from Papermills Direct and I used it for this creation. Image is from Fitztown. Maybe I've watched too much of The Game of Thrones? Wanted to name wolves as Ghost and Grey Wind, but chose Pearl and Diamond instead. ;)

Image is called "wild 8" and because one wolf seemed too lonely, I added mirror image to keep one company, printed it and coloured.

Wolf is a beautiful animal, one of the most beautiful I know. (At least when they are featured on the photos, pictures and framed)

Frame is handmade with old fashion ruler, scoring board, scissors and couple of test runs. And 12x12 cardstock and glue and metallic embellishments. By the way, beveled frame is NOT as difficult to make as you might think. You just need to get it sorted in your head. Well, I took my time. :D

Eyes are highlighted with Glossy Accent to make them glow and it looks good.

Background is shaded only with a bit of metallic rub wax(?) or maybe it is chalk, no idea! Bottom part with bronze and natural white and upper part with two shades of blue. Sort of earth and sky.

Black n White +1 Other Colour

Morning all and welcome to my second Guest DT blogging for Crafty Catz! Yay, here we are with very delicious sounding challenge, # 229 and it is
Black n White +1 Other Colour
We have TWO sponsors this week, hehee, I say "we", because it is so nice to be a GDT with other ladies/girls/catz at Crafty CatzGenerous sponsors are:

Delicious Doodles is offering 4 images of winner's choice

MeiFlower is offering either £20 worth of goodies or £20 voucher to spend in their online store
(remember to check details from their blog)

Now photo alert! I blogged about a hundred photos because of so many details I needed and loved to share with you. Here we go:

The digi stamps are from Delicious Doodles and they are Blossom  and Iris Flower.

Front when card is closed tied with orhid/purple satin ribbon and bow.

Inside

There are eyelets coloured using Flexmakers to get the same shade as ribbon. Background is distressed inked and smoothed with scissors. Foam double side tape raised embossed layer nicely up.

2 layers of Iris Flower, second layer cut by scissors! Then plenty of glossy accent and white snow glitter.

Inside again. Ribbon ends are hidden under the Iris Flower and secured with glue. Girl has no "make up", only printed using matching colour and layered it with background frame die cut. Left and right Iris Flowers are cut exactly to match the front to make it a full bunch. Not mirror image.

Because of the gap between layers I cut thin stripes and glued them on the lenght of the flower bunch.

That's it! Easy and simple. Final touch are flat back pearls on each corner.

What did I need:

Cardstock purple, black and white - Papermill Direct
Digi stamps - Delicious Doodles.
Die cuts - Sizzix Framelits
(the bigger ones I had to draw and cut)
20x4mm and 24x3mm white flat back pearls - stash
Ribbon and eyelets - stash
Ranger Glossy Accent
Art Deco Snow Glitter
