Fashion Icon

World has been given a new Fashion Icon :) She took the famous like it was air she is breathing. Here she is stright from Barn Fashion Show 2011 runway.

She is wearing purpleish velvet dress and top of the dress is embroided with silver pearls. Under dresses are beige and cream silk. She has huge diamond bracelets on both wrists and top of all is fantastic hair net with shining floral zircons :D And a bee.

Again I made a punched frame with Fiskars and this time I coloured plain 80gsm paper to highlight roses and leaves and glued it under the card. Yellow bow is just me messing about and one self adhesive heart shaped purple "jewelry".

Bugs and Butterfiles

Holographic card stock makes me dizzy but isn't it lovely on cards? YES. The pic was taken with flash, and it really gives depth and shows the rainbow effect. First I punched the corners, then around the card to get those leaves. Then I placed holographic card under it and voila, here we got the wonderful shine.

This is my first "normal" easel card and the base is very simply decorated with couple of bugs and leaves. On the card itself there are more bugs!

Original image has a bird, but I cut it out (okay, I admit, colouring birds is probably harder than colouring snow, so you understand how much I try to avoid birds. Hmmm... Good I'm not Alfred Hitchock. LOL), yes, I cut the birdie out and glued couple of butterflies there. Extra wow factor is two or three layers on each.
With good imagination, you can "see" a frog hiding behind the leaves down on the edge of the diamond cut. ;)

Yes, I forgot to sort that silly line out on the left side of  "watermark". Annoying. Maybe next time.

Image is MJM (Mo Manning)
Die cuts diamonds are Nestabilities
Punch around the card is Fiskars (yes, my Finnish roots are proud of it)
Butterfly punch is a gift from my friend
Another bug is small punch, no name
Gems are bought from Samuel Taylors

Highlights Sakura Gelly Roll Silver Star

Freebie Time - UbA 09 black and white edition

Here I am again with black and white tools bp. There are few more tools and also the size is bigger and tools smaller.

Feel free to tell your friends about these, because I'm not advertising anywhere else :) Not saying that I don't want to, but The Best Freebie Site EVAH won't list colored thingies (as most of my backing paper freebies are, all the rest though are black and white), and if I can't have the best, I won't settle the second best! :) LOL, so I have to settle with my own blog ;P

Last part of the file name "uba" stands for Unique by Annemaritta. Easy to remember and welcome back!

Here  is the list of my other freebies. :)

A Gerbera Or Not A Gerbera

I have NO greenfingers, all 10 are pale pink, therefore no idea what this flower is called, but then again, thing like that has never stopped me.

After good night sleep and horrible nightmare (erm... paradox)

As you can see, I added the bow and also now it is clearer to see that the die cut is in the middle of "nothing", only those tiny pearl strings are holding it there.

ARGH! One is totally lost without a proper camera!

The trick was to tie the die cut in the middle of the cut and it is done by using chain of golden pearls, the same was used for those swirls.  Of course there are couple of gems.  Then this mrs decided the card so too boring and ah, now it is not. With this huge flowerly thingy.

I like this middle piece hanging like that in the air. The idea was to make a card for "Less Is More", but I think this card has too much now. :) LOL, there is no chance to send this card safe to anyone in the envelope. And whad did I have under my desk?!? A perfecto box. Can't believe it! :)

N E V E R  T H R O W  A N Y T H I N G  A W A Y.
That is my motto today.

Hello again! :)

This time I'm offering you bp "Boats". 300dpi, jpg and size is now A4. If you are using these, I wouldn't mind the slightest, if you could mention "Unique by Annemaritta"or "UbA". There are many projects I would like to have matching backing paper, and this is so much fun to create them. :)

These Boots Are Made For Working

Yay! Phindy's digi and TLC sentiment, what else could a girl ask for? Hmm... set of Prismacolors, some gems, couple of plasters, buttons, twine...
Nothing is ever enough? :o What are we like :D

Paper piecing thingy:
Esa's teeshirt and his jeans are paper piecing, as well as his arms and tummy. Face is my own. Or Prismacolors rather.

The difficult part is this: I have N E V E R managed to do the hop blog, or blog hop. Once I thought about it, but then it was sooooo overhjelming task LOL. Yes, I will try now, this week or in the near future...

This card is from real life! My dad was wallpapering or nailing skirting boards or summat like that. My son saw granddad with a hammer and guess what happened when my dad went for a cuppa... Yes! My son took the hammer, and started hammering brand new wallpapers, because he just wanted to help. Awwwwww... :)  (You sure understand now, why I love this digi!)

Backing paper is fresh and created and printed today. I wanted to have tools and then I desinged one. Hmpf, not tool, but BP.

Thank you for reading and sharing my family secrets with me :D

Challenges...

Delightful Challenges - paper piercing or paper piecing
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Meljen Designs - masculine
Bunny Zoe - one for the boys
Digi Design House - paper piecing

Freebie time - UbA 09

Long time no seen, eh? Straight to the point then!
Sure everyone knows how kids like to build something, or give a "helping" hand when mum or dad are working. At the moment I'm working on Phindy's beautiful image "Big Boots to Fill" and because I didn't have any suitable bp, I put my designer hat and mood on, and now I do have a perfect backing paper for that. In my opinion, anyway!!! :D

Feel free to grab these if you like :) Size is 16cm x 16 xm, and resolution is 300, format is .jpg. Thought about getting A4 or US Letter size, but maybe in the near future, just wanted to get my card done first :)

Kids

Hih, what a wonderful image again from Mo :) Surely I will never get tired of them. Sunday was (unbelievable) sunny day here in Yorkshire, England, so I took my Prismacolors and few printed images with me and spent few wonderful hours in the overgrown garden. Coloring, not gardening!

Mo's Challenge theme is "Start of Something New" and I hope it goes without saying that this card shows (ok ok, I am explaining it!! hahah) toddler's first ever tantrum! For parents this is a start of a new wonderful era.

Sentiment is excellent ;) and look at the bp!

Digi - Mo Manning

Do Not Colour Without Daylight

No special story to go with this card, but it is the joy of making something, I assume ;) Of course I always find something anyhow...

1. I have 134 different Prismacolors to choose from (2 pencils are of those discontinued colours) and I was struggling a bit to match TEAL. Should I contact Sanford or would it be enough just to find the reason in the mirror? ;) Heheh!

2. Sky went all pear shaped, solution was easy thou, I cut the image out, hah!

3. Can I please blame the scanner image looking more blue than purple!

I love those buttons and sentiment and layout and backing paper and to be honest, I like this card alot. No idea why. ;)

Cardstock - Last couple of weeks I've been cutting A4 -> 6 x 6, more room to play with!
Digi - Digi Doodles
Pencils - Prismacolors
Blending with Johnson Baby Oil and a stump
Staedtler 3000 Duo was used distressing the edges
BP - Free gift from somewhere
Embs:
Die Cut Buttons are Joy Crafts
Die Cut Lace is Nellie's
organza ribbon is from stash
Sentiment - TLC

Challenges for this card?
Phindy's Place - Purple and Teal

PS. There are 72 Prismacolors on the desk and rest in a big tin. By the way, mug tree is an excellent cutting die tree! Oh, and there is the image after cutting the sky out.

I'm working on getting good pencil holders and this is a start.

Big Shot Is Back

Knocking on the door, who could that be (as if I didn't know after following the tracking system online). Box addressed to me and it was a brand new Big Shot.

Old plates and dies did not come back, unfortunately, but of course the most important is the machine.

Have to say, the company I bought the original from handled all with excellent customer care and service. Polite and friendly, kept me informed all the way through, and all and all I would really like to recommend craft4.com to all of you.

Double Trouble With Easy Easel

Digital camera is broken and camera phone has no flash, but that does not stop me from trying something cool and new for me. Never ever even tried easel card before, but of course I had to try something "a bit different" and this is so cool!!! I mean creating it.

Some might recognize "me", I was never happy with the card, but love the image and my colorine with her/me (yes, and I have guts to say so too! :)) and because this card is to be sent to someone very very special, wanted this person to laugh with it/me.

Now to my first ever easel card, may I introduce: Double Twisted Easel:

Yep, again I glued about one billion pearls and this time there are lilac, yellow and white of my "sandpaper glittering" cardstock. :)  I hope you can spot two different shades of bp. :)

The old card

bp from Samuel Taylors
Die Cuts are Spellbinders and Nellie's Multi Frame
Pearls are from chain, cut and glued one by one
Gems are from Samuel Taylors Craft Essentials
Image is Mo Manning's

Romantic Era Part I

Here we go...
I found this wonderful sandpaper feel sparkling and shining cardstock and although I have only few sheets, I love to use it, because it is so beautiful and easy to work with. This time it is used to create sort of pyramid with Nestabilities and then it needed one layer only for image itself.

This last photo was taken with flash just to show how gems and all thingies spark :)
Die Cuts - Spellbinders Nestabilities
Gems are from Samuel Taylors Craft Essentials
Ribbon stash
Lilac bp again from ST
"Golden chain" is from Mad About Crafting
Image is Ann's Paper Art (Danish company, I recall...)

Until next time, my dears :)

Oh, as much as I would love to take all credit for the colorine, I can't. It's Prismacolors ;)
948 Sepia, 915 Lemon Yellow, 922 Poppy Red, 1003 Spanish Orange, 913 Spring Green, 1009  Dahlia Purple
all blended with Johnson Baby Oil with stump
and light touch of Stabilo black and orange...

Few great challenges, I would love to participate:

The Mind of a Woman

I will add some txt soon, but now I have to (well, why me? Not MY course work, but...) watch Jane Eyre. (Son's English work, but I've never watched Jane Eyre myself either.)

*** Son's English coursework deadline was today and my help was essential, he says... ***

OK, English coursework done.
Handbag: Again one creature I've never tried before; a Handbag Card. Hih, lovely project. I'm so in love with Spellbinders dies that one day you will get bored with me,

"Annie, happy crafter, had  a Big Shot,
Ee i ee i oh!
And with Big Shot she cut some dies,
Ee i ee i oh!
With a Spellbinders here,
and a Nestabilities there,

Here a mess, there a mess,
Everywhere a big mess
Old crafter Annie had some fun!
Ee i ee i oh!

A woman's mind is as complex as the contents of her handbag; even when you get to the bottom of it, there is ALWAYS something at the bottom to surprise you! - Billy Connelly

All die cuts - Spellbinders
Decorations on edge of die cuts - some glitter glue dots from tube and leftovers when cutting a eyelet edge die
