Flower Tutorials

Flower tutorials that changed my life.

Silly to say things like that? No. What do you do with all your scrap paper and card? Bin? Store in the bottom drawer? Why not make flowers? Sometimes if I'm lazy, I take a sheet of card/paper and punch quite a few petals ready to be converted to flowers, but all scraps are screaming out "we are here, take us!!!"

3. Create a Beautiful Flower with Petal Pairs Punches

Some of my makes. I will blog pics of punches and dies etc very shorty.

These pics I took when someone asked tutorial, looks like I forgot to take pics in the middle of the "process". Oops.

Time Flies When You Have Fun

Time the most certainly flies when having fun!
Here we are, today it is the 30th May, and this is my last Guest DT post for
I was lucky to have 5 Fridays and this week's theme is... wait for it...
ANYTHING GOES
Generous sponsor this week is

and the lucky  winner of this week's challenge will get
£10.00 Gift Certificate to Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

I should warn you for long blogging and lots of pictures. Here we go.

edit: WARNING, I WENT TOTALLY OVER THE TOP WITH FLOWERS :D

Because this is my last week, I decided to make something special. It will remind me of Crafty Catz team and I feel I need some tissues now ;)

This tissue box covers last four weeks:

1. Bugaboo
+ pearls and lots of home made flowers. Die cut Go Kreate

2. Delicious Doodles
+ pearls and flowers by yours truly ;) Die cut Spellbinders

3. KennyK
+ gems and flowers (yeah yeah, homemade)

 4. Fitztown
+ pearls and these famous flowers by me. Swirls stash

How was this done? Ok, box was done by measuring a box of tissues and adding few millimetres, then cut some cardstock and measured and scored using Hougie board. Box isn't square or cube, but it's dead easy to make.

Extra layer of card to make the bottom stronger and hide the folding.

I like to fold edges inside to have smooth(er) finish and cover the bottom foldings under extra layer this side too.

Butterfly and butterfly cutting Tonic Studios. Swirl is Joy Crafts. Question is "who made the flowers?" Confession time: It was me. I like making flowers, can't help it :D

Lining there as well.

Recap:
3 x A4 sheets of Papermill Direct Leather Embossed Card
Die cuts - Spellbinders, Go Kreate, Tonic Studios, Joy Crafts
Digistamps - Bugaboo, Delicious Doodles, Fitztown, KennyK
Colouring - Letraset Flexmarkers, Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Pearls, gems, ribbon - stash
Flowers - Annemaritta

That's it. Piece of cake. :)

Leather Embossed Card

Morning! I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain, what a glorious day... Yep, raining heavily in Yorkshire and here is my Crafty Catz GDT post for this week. (My Week 4/5.)

Challenge 232 - EMBOSSING
Crafty Catz is a weekly challenge blog with fab bunch of talented crafters and they also have monthly GDT post and I'm Miss May so to speak :D Theme is embossing, and it could be wet embossing, heat embossing, dry embossing... You name it.

Sponsor for this week is Fitztown. Fitztown is a group of talented artists and crafters. we make a variety of products including fine art, sculpting, woodcrafts, papercraft, cardmaking and many more.

Fitztown Store
PRIZE.....3 digis of winner's choice.

We can't wait for your creations! Join us this week (and weeks to come) at Crafty Catz. Remember to follow the theme "embossing".

I had a chance to get really beautiful leather embossed card from Papermills Direct and I used it for this creation. Image is from Fitztown. Maybe I've watched too much of The Game of Thrones? Wanted to name wolves as Ghost and Grey Wind, but chose Pearl and Diamond instead. ;)

Image is called "wild 8" and because one wolf seemed too lonely, I added mirror image to keep one company, printed it and coloured.

Wolf is a beautiful animal, one of the most beautiful I know. (At least when they are featured on the photos, pictures and framed)

Frame is handmade with old fashion ruler, scoring board, scissors and couple of test runs. And 12x12 cardstock and glue and metallic embellishments. By the way, beveled frame is NOT as difficult to make as you might think. You just need to get it sorted in your head. Well, I took my time. :D

Eyes are highlighted with Glossy Accent to make them glow and it looks good.

Background is shaded only with a bit of metallic rub wax(?) or maybe it is chalk, no idea! Bottom part with bronze and natural white and upper part with two shades of blue. Sort of earth and sky.

Picture:
Digistamp - Fitztown "wild 8"
Cardstock - Papermills Direct Leather Embossed card
Colours - Letraset Flexmarkers

No Words Needed

Nice to make something just Clean and Simple for a change. Don't take me wrong, I LOVE colouring and adding ribbons/lace/pearls/gems/layers/flowers... Sometimes silence is golden.

Here we go.

Flat back pearls are ivory, but on my screen they look yellowish.

Top layer is embossed and cut with scissors. Sure knife would be more precise, but I'm not too comfy with knives.

 5x7 card blank
white card stock
Tied Together embossing folder
Another embossing folder with no name or maker
Ivory flat back acrylic pearls 4mm
Silver peel off punch of flowers
Foam double side tape to lift top layer up a bit
