Cherry Blossoms

Here I am again. Second posting today, but I just can't stop! :)
Almost end of January is a good time to look out if spring is knocking the door. Not yet? Well, hope is a good thing (Shawshank Redemption).

This bottom picture is to show how it is coloured.

Image from Digi Doodle Shop and name is Cherry Blossom
Design Papers are "can't remember where from" but they are beautiful
Cardstock is from never ending stash.
Twine also.
Those square flat thingies are WRM bought years ago and today I thought they are perfect colours and style for this card.
Colours are Promarkers

That's all for now. :)

I've gone mad with pics, but these are the bolted hinges, of course.

Gate opening slowly...

Here he is, Mr Macaw Parrot G. (Gunhild) Pula-aho.
Yes, Gunhild is girl's name, but parrots are sooo tiny when born, you'll find it difficult to see if male or female, hih.

There is a story behind Pula-aho, and I'll give you more details after translating the story from Finnish to English.

Lets Dance

Finally I had courage to try this. Try what? Colour image with greys only and these Mo Manning images are just perfect to do so, aren't they? Then I fancied to add another colour and for some weird reason, I choose pink! Pink and I don't match, do you hear me? Hih, of course there is something even weirder. I put some PINK glittering embossing powder to create this contrast.

Mo Manning creates amazing stamps and I put these two youngsters together. First I printed  and coloured them. Then tried very carefully cut shapes using tiny scissors. Found some nice greyish cardstock, glued shaped on the card and then finally free hand stiching.

Music Box

It is Thursday and that means something nice.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenges #91 is here and this week we have a colour combo for you: Blues & Browns

To join our challenges you don’t have to use a Digi Doodle Shop image, but if you do use one, your entry will count twice. You are also allowed to enter our challenge as many times as you like, as long as you enter with a new card/craft.

The winner of this challenge will win a $10 gift certificate from Digi Doodle Shop where you’ll be spoilt for choice, as there are so many great images to choose from. We will also have 2 runners up who will get a badge to wear on their blogs.

There are new stamps and also I would love to remind you of the 99c limited time category. The digital stamp I am using is from there. Here we go...

Music Box

Sorry about millions of pictures, but this is one of my favourite projects ever, and as modest as I always am, I LOVE this.

The box when it's closed.

Lid / top is pearlised 150g card, embossed using Fiskars plate, then I gave it a coat of distress ink. Ribbons are satin, brown and blue, to soften the image. Rose is coloured using blue glitter glue and few drops of water.

I started this with regular pentagon, white cardstock and a ruler.

Take the lid off and box explodes and there is a ballerina in the middle.

This exploding box has three layers as follows:

1. I covered the walls outside using brown embossed 100 card. Inside some design paper. It's embossed and nicely glittered (can't remember the name now).

2. Middle layer is inked with brown Papermania ink, then dark blue heart and top of it shiny baby blue scalloped heart.

3. Again I inked the walls, now with blue, glued blue roses. Yes, dyed using glue and water.

Ballerina is only 2" tall and oh yeah, it was nice colouring job, because I needed two! Two ballerinas, mirror images. Both coloured as similar as possible (heheh, with my skills, not so exactly the same).

Die cut gave her nice frames and then I glued some snow to hide the stand.

She is probably dancing Swan Lake in Blue (yes, new version).

A bit of distress ink of course.

Image - Digi Doodle Shop Ballerina
Cardstock - white, brown, some design paper
Roses - white, all dyed with glue and water. Glue gives nice shiny and hard surface
Ink - Brown is Papermania
Blue - Broken China and Stormy Sky from Tim Holtz collection
Ribbons - stash
Snow - stash
Ballerina is coloured using Staedtler mars graphic 3000 pens

Yes, my dear?

I love this stamp! Sir Oliver is fantastic, funny, sophisticated, serious, cute. He is all that. Definitely. Oh, I've been looking at and admiring Sir Oliver here and now I have him!

This week we have such a brill challenge at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges, can't wait to see your creations. Embossing it is. Who doesn't love embossing? With embossing you really can spice things up, hot embossing, cold embossing, dry embossing... Err, I'm not sure of the correct terminology, but you get the idea, right?

This card is for my son. We have had such a laugh with this "One does not simply..." , it is a famous quote from Lord of the Rings and in our house it is "One does not simply turn the computer off" or "One doesn't simply quit gaming and come downstairs to help mother" and vica versa. Seriously vica versa! Hih.

Card also is my first ever tri-fold this kind of thingy. Not as difficult as you might think. Worse! Heheh.

Challenge #90 "Embossing"
May I introduce Sir Oliver

Sorry about many pics, but I wanted to show all this silly things I've done. Embossed paws.

Embossed "adorable", "sweet" and music notes where the bird is singing.

"Your're the Best" embossed with Versafine and tinkle embossing powder.

Now get your pens, pencils, markers, embossing tools and inspirations out and I will be around your blogs. Can't wait! :)

Summers Were Hot and Sweet

Oh yes, when I was young all summers were hot and sweet and there were no worries of the world.

This is my first ever Sarah Kay image and for some reason I like the colorine and lots and lots of sweet embellishments.

Famous Quotes Part 2

Don't Hurry, Be Happy

Card for a young gentleman who got his driving license.

Hope you have a brill day! Remember out there: Don't hurry.

New Perspective, or New Hobby at Least

Never tried golf in my life. If that is anything like minigolf you can play in the theme parks, then I can assure you, I'm useless.

This new digistamp from Digi Doodle Shop is irresistible, isn't it? Absolutely fantastic and what makes the matter even better, is the model behind this. Look at this link! Amazing!

This week we have wonderful challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Best, and it is called "New Beginnings". My card works for me as
- New perspective of life
- Refound positive attitude
- Looking at what is around you and seeing that there are birds in the sky singing and sky is blue ;)
- Focusing what really is important

(Mind you, it has been horrible weather here in Yorkshire, gusts, hailstorms, heavy rain etc. Okay okay, it is actually normal weather here, but this has been worse. Promise.)

Digi stamp is Adamant Golfer - Focus from Digi Doodle Shop
Card blank is beautifully hammered aperture from the stash my friend gave me
Sky is blue vellum from discount store
Birds from Marianne's gorgeous dies
Branch also Marianne's
Gems bought from Samuel Taylor's
Inner hearts are vellum and white card cut using Sizzix Framelits

Thank you for visiting!!!
